Canadian fuzz-pop quintet Alvvays announce the release of their self-titled debut album, due 21st July 2014 via Transgressive Records. Produced by indie-guru Chad VanGaalen and mixed by Holy Fuck's Graham Walsh and John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile), the albums' dazzling melodies and sun-splashed haze conceal themes of drunkenness, death and defeat.

Having already been chosen by NME as "a band everyone will be talking about after SXSW", the band have also captured the attention of the likes of Pitchfork, DIY and Stereogum, with their tracks ‘Adult Diversion' and ‘Archie, Marry Me'.

Comprised of Molly Rankin (lead vocals/guitar), Kerri Maclellan (keys/vocals), Alec O'Hanley (guitar), Brian Murphy (bass) and Phil MacIsaac (drums), Alvvays take the template laid out by the likes of Scottish stalwarts Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines and Belle & Sebastian and fuse it with a strong sense of self and a unique personality. Each shimmering track on their debut full-length frames Rankin's melancholic melodies and unwavering voice with meticulous arrangements and needlepoint guitars.
