Announce details of ‘dub’ album Blood.

Franz Ferdinand have announced details of the release of Blood, a dub version of their recent album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand which was released in January of this year.

Released on 1st June 2009 through Domino Records, the album was mixed by Dan Carey, the producer of Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. It will be available on CD, vinyl and digital formats.

Carey’s CV includes an ‘apprenticeship’ with legendary south London dub specialist The Mad Professor, owner of Ariwa Sounds, one of the UK’s premier reggae labels.

Blood was originally featured as part of the box set & double disc versions of Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, though the new version will include the additional song, Be Afraid, a version of Dream Again.

Also, the band have recently made available a series of live recordings from their recent UK tour. 

In conjunction with www.livehernow.com & Domino the recordings from the Glasgow, Birmingham, London & Manchester shows were made available to buy of the night after each gig and are currently still available via www.liveherenow.com/news.asp. Each show CD costs £15.

The CDs are a full live document of each show and come with artwork in keeping with the original cover of Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.

The band are currently on tour in Europe and head to Japan and the US before returning to the UK in the summer for a number of festivals including T in the Park & Glastonbury.
